Dihydro-5-(2-octenyl)-2(3H)-furanone is a fatty, fruity, and soap tasting compound. Dihydro-5-(2-octenyl)-2(3H)-furanone has been detected, but not quantified in, milk and milk products. This could make dihydro-5-(2-octenyl)-2(3H)-furanone a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Dihydro-5-(2-octenyl)-2(3H)-furanone. |
